WIP: Haunted

I haven’t posted any bad poetry Work In Progress (WIP) lately, so here’s one in honor of Halloween. 😉 – kat

I saw you yesterday
pumping gas into a red convertible
at the corner station
and your hair was exactly the same
as it was before the chemo took it
the sloping roll of your shoulders
could still barely keep your sweater anchored
from slipping away in the wind
and despite knowing you're gone
that it's not you
just another ghost
with your hair and shoulders and a red convertible
I craned my head the whole way round the corner
like Psyche dragged away
by the angry West wind
desperate for one last look
