So it’s been a little heavy on ye olde iBard lately, what with the depression and the Facebook drama and the existential angst about planning ahead and whatnot.
So today, we are keeping things light and fluffy. Like marshmallow cream for your head.
This is not exactly light and fluffy, but it made me smile:
It’s a picture of Egyptian Christians protecting Egyptian Muslims during prayers.
“The light shines in the darkness; and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5 (ESV)
On a truly fluffy note, the fictional-yet-still-awesome Miranda Bailey is tweeting now (or in some cases, forcing her residents to tweet for her). As a longtime Grey’s Anatomy fan (see: Exhibit A), this makes me happy.
I want to tell her that I am a professional Tweeter, and not a medical professional, and for that the sick and injured people of the world should be deeply and profoundly grateful.
We went to 8th grade parent night this week, because our son is going to be a high school freshman next year. Which makes me want to barf just a little. Wait! Light and fluffy, Kat. Okay. I’m excited for him–I really am–it’s just that DAMN, wasn’t he a toddler eating McNuggets with my Mom every Friday just like, five minutes ago? And now he leans down to hug me and wants to fly planes.
Welcome to my midlife crisis, folks! The water is warm!
Speaking of water, I have started lap swimming at the YMCA, or as I like to call it “getting my aquatic butt kicked by the elderly.”
That’s pretty much it on the bright and shiny front here at the Grey Cottage.
