Bag of Tricks.

My kids call my purse “Mom’s magic bag” because it seems like whatever they might need, I can almost always manage to produce it from the bag.

It doesn’t have quite the capacity of Hermione’s beaded bag, but for tissues, umbrellas, notebooks and pens, the occasional snack…if they need it, I’ve usually got it in the bag.

I guess it might seem like magic. Really, it’s just the benefit of experience.

I’ve had enough life experience to know what to bring along for a wide variety of situations. As a kid, that kind of knowledge can seem like prescience.

But it’s not just experience; it’s also taking the time before I leave the house to think about what might come up, and prepare for those possibilities.

Experience + Preparation = Magic.
